Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll.

She was born in Barranquilla on February 2, 1997, her stage name is Shakira, and she is a Colombian singer-songwriter, dancer, actress and businesswoman.

From the age of five, he demonstrated his talent for music and dance. At eight years old he composed his first song which he dedicated to his father (your dark glasses). She participated in the contest looking for children's artist in 1988, in which he won and did so in the next two years. She signed her first contract as a teenager with Sony Music Colombia and recorded her first album which she called Magia in 1991.

In 1993 she released her second album Peligro, and in 1995 the third album Pies Descalzos. With more than four million copies sold, her album was a success throughout Latin America.

The disc where are the thieves? of 1998, made her a Latin pop-rock star. She won her first Grammy for recording her on New Your Shakira MTV Unplugged in 1999 where she performed a live concert on a Latin flavor special.

In 2001 he wrote his next album Servicio de Lavanderia which contained nine songs in English and four in Spanish. This album won the number one position in different countries and represented its worldwide congregation with more than thirteen million copies sold.

In June 2005 he released his next album Fijacion Oral Vol. 1 in Spanish and in November of that same year he released the album Oral Fixation Vol. 2 in English. With the single Hips Don't Lie in collaboration with rapper and producer Wyclef Jean, she reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and made Shakira the first Colombian artist to do so.

In 2010 when she launched her own perfume, she was in charge of closing the South African World Cup with the song waka waka. In the mid-1990s, he created the foundation called Pies Descalzos, which helps all child victims of violence in Colombia, providing them with education, nutritional, psychological, and medical services. She also founded ALAS and in 2003 she was named UNICEF ambassador.
